Description
In this class we will walk the grounds of the Larsen Wildlife Sanctuary owned by Audubon Society in Fairfield, CT, (approx. 1 mile hike). We will find at least 25 wild edibles and discuss identification, edible components, environmental importance, taxonomy and more. This walk will focus primarily on plants and is geared toward beginner and intermediate foragers. The class will run approximately 2 hours. Some of the plants we will be looking at are: Serviceberry, Elderberry, Black Cherry, Greenbrier, Wild violet, Sassafras, Spicebush and more.
