In this class we will walk the grounds of The Middlesex Land Trust’s Palmer Taylor Preserve in Portland, CT, (approx. 1 mile hike). We will find at least 20 wild edibles and discuss identification, edible components, environmental importance, taxonomy and more. This walk will focus primarily on wild edible plants but if the occasional mushroom presents itself we’ll include that as well. The class will run approximately 2 hours. Some of the plants we will be looking at are: Creeping Charlie, Black Cherry, Mugwort, Wild Blackberry and Raspberry, Yellow Birch, Spicebush  and more.
