Description
In this class we will walk the grounds of Eisenhower Park in Milford, CT, (approx. 1 mile hike). We will find at least 25 wild edibles and discuss identification, edible components, environmental importance, taxonomy and more. This walk will focus primarily on plants and is geared toward beginner foragers. The class will run approximately an hour and a half. Some of the plants we will be looking at are: Japanese Knotweed, Spicebush, shagbark hickory, wild grape, Autumn Olive, Sassafras and more. LOCATION: Eisenhower Park (780 North St, Milford, CT 06461) – After you pull in, drive about 1000 feet past the playground and rec area to the larger parking lot adjacent to a large field and pond.
