Description

In this class we will walk the grounds of Racebrook Tract in Orange, CT, (approx. 1 mile hike). We will find at least 25 wild edibles and discuss identification, edible components, environmental importance, taxonomy and more. This walk will focus primarily on plants but hopefully we will find a few mushrooms too. The class will run approximately 2 hours. Some of the plants we will be looking at are: mugwort, wild grape, kousa dogwood, wild carrot, northern bayberry, shadblow, black tupelo, a number of oak species and more.
